The Way PDO & Preschool is a faith-based early childhood education center dedicated to fostering a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged six weeks to five years old. Our curriculum integrates biblical values with hands-on learning, covering subjects like science, math, social-emotional skills, and physical education. We are committed to helping children develop spiritually, socially, and academically in a Christ-centered setting.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced early childhood educator with strong leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to creating a structured, faith-centered learning environment. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for overseeing classroom activities, mentoring assistant teachers, and ensuring that students receive a high-quality education in a nurturing and safe space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans in alignment with a faith-based curriculum.
  • Lead classroom instruction, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Guide and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides, providing support and training.
  • Observe and assess students’ progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating updates with parents.
  • Foster social, emotional, and spiritual growth by incorporating Christian values into daily activities.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom that promotes exploration and creativity.
  • Work collaboratively with parents and staff to support the overall success of students.
  • Maintain compliance with state licensing regulations, school policies, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
  • Strong leadership and classroom management skills.
  • Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies.
  • Ability to mentor and support assistant teachers.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a faith-based preschool or private school setting.
  • Familiarity with play-based and structured learning methodologies.
  • Knowledge of state early childhood education guidelines and best practices.
