Language and Communication

Now is the time to start looking at preschool and early childhood education options for your children for the 2021/2022 school year.  Most early childhood education programs begin enrolling in February and March, and spots fill quickly.  Livingston Parish Public Schools begin their registration for Preschool in mid-April.

The Way PDO & Preschool registration for the 2021/2022 school year begins March 1st.

We provide early childhood education and care for ages 6 weeks-5 years old.  The program includes  Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 classes.

To be eligible for The Way PDO & Preschool’s Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 programs, the child must turn 3 or 4, respectively, by September 30th, 2021, and be fully potty trained.

Registration is completely online this year due to Covid restrictions. This is a common theme in programs and schools throughout the area to limit exposure to germs in school buildings.

If prospective parents would like to see our facility, they may schedule a tour during our regular hours on our website or by calling the office

The program serves those children who may not qualify for Livingston Parish Public Schools Preschool classes or those who prefer a Christian learning environment for their children.

Our early childhood education program hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 2 pm, and Friday, 9 am – 12 pm.

A non-refundable registration fee of $150 are due at the time of registration, which holds your child’s spot in the program.

There is a supply fee of $100, which is due when school starts in August.

Our early childhood education program works to prepare children for Kindergarten by implementing all five developmental domains of school readiness, as defined by The U.S. Department of Education:

  • fine/gross motor
  • communicative
  • adaptive
  • cognitive
  • social/emotional

In addition, children will learn how to problem solve, compromise, and be respectful to others.  Early childhood education is a place where children gain a sense of self, explore, play with peers, and build confidence.

If you are interested in giving your child a great start in their early childhood education, don’t wait!  Spots fill fast and are limited, even more so during this pandemic.

Once you find a program that fits your family’s needs and that you fall in love with, follow through with registering/enrolling.  If you are interested in the Livingston Parish Public School’s preschool program and to find out if you qualify, you can visit https://lpsb.org/

Please reach out via our website, Facebook, email (at info@thewaypdo.com), or phone (225.369.2789) if you are interested in our program.  We hope to serve you and your family in the future.
